co-operation
Business co-operation with other countries is currently a vital competitive tool in a globalised world, with new and powerful players on the international scene and consequently increased commercial rivalry in the markets.
Co-operation not only enables other competitive elements to be added to the image of Spanish footwear, but it can also provide easier access to certain markets holding preferential agreements with others that might be of great interest for the sector.
Taken in its broadest sense, co-operation is regarded as one of the strategic axes on which the sector turns, involving not only outsourcing part of the manufacturing or production process, but also obtaining raw materials, distribution agreements, access to better sources of funding, creating mixed companies, etc. In 2000, a series of actions encouraging business co-operation and direct investment in third countries was begun under the framework of a Co-operation Plan that included activities such as information searches, a programme of visits to companies, associations, technology centres, etc.
Currently, companies have taken on co-operation as one of their competitive strategies and they are aware of the possibilities open to them in major foreign markets. This means that the Federation's activities in this field are aimed at exploring and informing about lesser-known but equally interesting alternatives and also at supporting investment projects in other countries by approaching the relevant organisations.
